The family of Cash App founder Bob Lee has filed a lawsuit against his alleged killer, Nima Momeni, and several members of his family, accusing them of attempting to destroy crucial evidence following his tragic death.
Lee, 43, was fatally stabbed by Momeni near his San Francisco home on April 4, 2023. Despite being rushed to the hospital, Lee succumbed to his injuries hours later.
The lawsuit, filed in San Francisco Superior Court, alleges that Momeni’s family members, including his mother, sister, brother-in-law, and multiple property management companies, tried to cover up the crime.
According to court documents, Momeni’s relatives allegedly attempted to sell the car that he used to pick up Lee on the night of the murder and deleted key information from their cellphones to conceal evidence related to the crime.
Additionally, the family is accusing the Portside Homeowners Association and Securitas Security Services of improperly releasing disturbing security footage showing Lee’s final moments, which caused significant emotional distress to his children.

The footage captured Lee stumbling down the street, bleeding after being attacked, before he collapsed. The release of this footage has sparked outrage, as the family claims it subjected Lee’s two young children to undue trauma.
The lawsuit seeks unspecified damages for negligence, wrongful death, aiding and abetting, conspiracy, intentional infliction of emotional distress, and invasion of privacy.
Lee’s family is fighting for justice, demanding accountability for those involved in both the murder and the alleged cover-up.
Momeni has been charged with murder, and prosecutors argue that the attack was related to a dispute over Momeni’s sister, whom Lee had known and whose alleged drug use played a role in the deadly confrontation.
Momeni faces a prison sentence of 16 years to life if convicted.
The Lee family’s legal action underscores their determination to seek justice for Bob Lee and hold all those involved accountable for their roles in the tragedy.
