The home of Brian Thompson, CEO of UnitedHealthcare, was hit with bomb threats just hours after he was tragically shot dead outside a New York City hotel on Wednesday, December 5.

The threats prompted a swift response from law enforcement in Maple Grove, Minnesota, where Thompson’s residence is located.

Police confirmed that the state bomb squad searched two properties in the area but found no explosives or further evidence. It remains unclear whether the bomb threats are connected to Thompson’s assassination.

Thompson was fatally shot around 6:40 a.m. outside the Hilton Hotel in Midtown Manhattan.

Cryptic messages were found on bullet casings at the scene of the crime, including the words “deny,” “defend,” and “depose.”

These phrases appear to reference a book by insurance law expert Jay M. Fienman, titled Delay, Deny, Defend, which critiques the practices of insurance companies.

As the manhunt continues, authorities are working to piece together the motive behind this shocking crime.
