With effect from Monday, November 14, 2022, the Colleges of Education Teachers Association of Ghana (CETAG) and the Colleges of Education Non-Teaching Staff Association of Ghana (CENTSAG) have decided to resume their indefinite strike.

The choice was made after separate emergency meetings on the best course of action were convened by the National Councils of CETAG and CENTSAG on November 11 and 12, 2022, respectively.

This comes after the administration was given a 5-day deadline to resolve their concerns over welfare or face a strike.

Thus, until the government has addressed concerns regarding the conditions of service, the statement urged members to discontinue their services permanently.

“The National Councils of CETAG and CENTSAG wish to use this communique to entreat all members, with the exception of the colleges’ security department, to comply with the decision to withdraw our services indefinitely until the employer has unconditionally addressed all our concerns regarding CoS, the effective date for placing First Degree Holders, retrospective deductions, variation of fuel, vehicle maintenance and off-campus allowance as well as compensation for the all-year-round work,” parts of their statement read.
