Christiano Ronaldo stole the show; scoring an hat trick to help Manchester United defeat Tottenham by 3-2 at Old Trafford. The Portuguese forwarder was earlier dropped for the game against Manchester City with United interim manager dismissing claims that he was injured.

Ronaldo was introduced to the starting lineup against Tottenham and scored a treble to push his total career goals to 806.

Reacting after the match, he Portuguese posted on Instagram:

“Tremendously happy with my first hat-trick since I came back to Old Trafford!”

“Nothing beats the feeling of being back on the pitch and helping the team with goals and effort.

“We’ve proven once again that we can beat any team in any given day, as long as we work hard and stand together as one. There are no limits for Man United! No matter what! Let’s go, Devils!”

Meanwhile, Tottenham have showed consistent inconsistencies having lost 4 and won 3 in their past 7 games. The win against champions, Manchester City and Everton was a turning point for Spurs but the manner in which they lost to Manchester United was a reflection of how difficult making top four will be.

Conte reacted to lost and also praised “the decisive Ronaldo”

The Tottenham Manager said:

“We have to be very disappointed for the loss because I think after a good performance like this you deserve much more.

“This team has to continue to improve in many aspects. I think on the pitch the improvements are very clear because the team played in my opinion really good football and created chances to score.

“During the game there are many parts of the game and you have to know when to push and stay calm and I think we have a lot of space to improve. For sure tonight we are to be disappointed for defeat but we will continue to work.

“In every game we are scoring many goals. Against Manchester United we created many chances at the same time we have to improve the experience to manage the situation.”

On Ronaldo: “You are talking about a player who is always decisive and has been in his career. Tonight he showed what type of player he is. Without Cristiano Ronaldo for Manchester United it would have been difficult not just to win but also to draw the game.”
