He first claimed he didn’t know the victim before stating they had consensual intercourse and that he was afraid his wife would leave him because of these claims.

The victim’s account of events did not change, and Spanish police on Thursday judged Alves guilty.

With 126 games for the Selecao, Alves is the third-most capped player in Brazil’s history, behind only Neymar (128) and Cafu (142). The forty-year-old’s professional career came to an end when UNAM, a Mexican team, terminated his contract following his first arrest in January 2023.

During his tenures with Bahia, Sevilla, Barcelona, Juventus, Paris Saint-Germain, and UNAM, he made 910 professional club appearances and scored 67 goals.
