Diego Maradona Dead

Former Argentine professional footballer and football manager, Diego Armando Maradona Franco popularly called Diego Maradona have been confirmed dead.

Diego Armando Maradona died on Wednesday, November 25, 2020 after he suffered a cardiac arrest today, he died at age 60, two weeks after brain bleed.

Born on October 30, 1960, Maradona had only turned 60 on October 30 and was released from the hospital a couple of weeks ago following brain surgery.

This is another sad news hitting the world as a whole and not for just the football fraternity nor just for Argentina as a country, Diego has inspired a lot of people both young and old, he served as a role model.

He is widely regarded as one of the greatest football players of all time, and by many as the greatest ever. He was one of the two joint winners of the FIFA Player of the 20th Century award.

Maradona played his football in Serie A with Napoli from 1984-91, joined and also played for Boca Juniors, Barcelona, Sevilla, and Newell’s Old Boys before retiring back at Boca in 1997.

El Pibe de Oro then became a coach, including of the Argentina squad from 2008-10, most recently at Gimnasia La Plata.

His former club, Barcelona following the news of his Demise took to their official Twitter page to thank him for everything he has done for the club, below read their message of condolence.

“FC Barcelona expresses its deepest condolences regarding the death of Diego Armando Maradona, a player for our club (1982-84) and an icon of world football. Rest in peace Diego”
