DJ Azonto Demands $10 Million From Bawumia For Dancing To His 'Fa No Fom' Song

Do you guys know that Ghanaian disc jockey DJ Azonto and his management are requesting a huge sum of money from Ghana’s Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia for dancing to his ‘Fa No Fom’ hit single? well, check out the full details below.

In a newly released statement from the camp of DJ Azonto via social media, his Rolls Royce Family said the Bawumia however infringed on the musician’s intellectual property rights so they are demanding a hefty $10 million as compensation.

According to a video that went viral days ago the Vice President, Dr. Bawumia, was seen dancing to DJ Azonto’s banger, ‘Fa NoFom’ during his campaign trip to Nalerigu, in the North East Region, without authorization.

The clips from the occasion that saw him dancing to the tune became a trend on the internet, leading to Azonto and his team coming up with the demands as a way of protecting their property. And also asking that copyright laws be respected.

The statement claimed that the use of the artist’s property for political campaign purposes is unacceptable because they were not approached to obtain permission to use the property.

They also mentioned that they are however willing to collaborate with any political party or politician who will be interested in using the artist’s properties in their campaigns if the proper legal channels are used.

“In light of this infringement, we demand a compensation of $10 million. This amount reflects the value of the work and the damages incurred to the artist and management due to its misuse in such a high-profile campaign,” they indicated.

“As the rightful managers of DJ Azonto’s work, we were neither approached for permission nor did we authorize the use of ‘Fa No Fom’ in any capacity related to the Vice President’s campaign.”

Check out the complete statement below.
