To help ensure accident-free festivities, the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has urged people to think carefully about using electrical power sparingly over the holiday season.

According to Mr. Richard Mac-Ekor, the company’s Ho District Manager, risks related to incorrect energy use were more likely to occur during this time and might disrupt festivities for entire families and communities.

As a result, everyone must work to ensure safe consumption.

The District Manager made the call while wishing clients and the general public a happy holiday season via the Ghana News Agency (GNA).

In light of this, he emphasized the need for us to turn off all electronics and appliances before leaving our houses and other buildings.

“We have to manage our celebrations during the yuletide and be mindful that electricity can shorten our happiness if we don’t follow principles,”  he iterated.

While big offices had their annual breaks, he claimed that the ECG was operating around the clock throughout the time period to provide uninterrupted supply and that crucial portions such as the faults and the various vending locations were active.

In order to “detect electrical hazards and avoid them,” the district manager advised limiting alcohol consumption.

Moreover, he added that, “Despite a challenging year, we have hope because of His (Christ) birth.”

To that effect, the Power Queens Club of the ECG’s Volta Regional President, Mrs. Patience Amuzu, also issued a warning to “make merry with caution” and urged ladies to take the necessary precautions with electrical appliances to avoid risks and mishaps.
