In a controversial interview, Errol Musk, the father of tech mogul Elon Musk, has reignited a long-debunked conspiracy theory about former First Lady Michelle Obama.
During a conversation on the Wide Awake Podcast with Joshua Rubin, Musk claimed that Michelle Obama is actually a man, a statement with no factual basis.
“We realized Obama is a queer who is married to a man who dresses as a woman,” Errol Musk said, referring to Michelle Obama.
His remarks are part of a conspiracy theory that has circulated in far-right circles for years despite being thoroughly discredited.
The podcast host, Joshua Rubin, was visibly surprised by Musk’s comment, asking for clarification.
Errol doubled down, confidently asserting, “Of course, you don’t know that?” He even went so far as to mention late comedian Joan Rivers, who in 2014 made a joke about Michelle Obama’s gender identity, falsely implying a connection between her comment and Rivers’ death.
Despite medical records confirming that Rivers’ death was due to complications from surgery, Musk insisted on pushing the baseless theory further, even making explicit and inappropriate comments about Michelle Obama’s appearance.

Musk’s comments about Michelle Obama weren’t the only controversial topic in the interview.
He also criticized his son Elon’s parenting style, particularly concerning the tragic death of Elon’s first child, Nevada Alexander.
Musk suggested that Elon’s wealth and reliance on nannies had led to a lack of involvement in his children’s lives.
The strained father-son relationship has been widely reported, with Elon Musk previously describing his father as “evil.”
In the interview, Errol dismissed his son’s achievements and offered blunt criticisms of his personal life, continuing a pattern of publicly airing their differences.
While Musk’s inflammatory remarks have sparked a new wave of backlash, it seems that he remains unbothered by the controversy.
