Family Demands Answers After Twin Brothers Found Shot Dead on Georgia Mountain

The tragic discovery of twin 19-year-old brothers, Qaadir and Naazir Lewis, has left their family in shock and disbelief.

The brothers, from Lawrenceville, Georgia, were found dead on top of Bell Mountain near the North Carolina border on March 8, 2025, a day after they missed their early morning flight to Boston.

The young men were reportedly planning to visit friends, but instead met a tragic end hours after their flight was missed.

The brothers were last seen on March 7, when they failed to board their 7 a.m. flight. Their bodies were discovered by a hiker the following day at around 11:05 a.m., with gunshot wounds on both of them.

Authorities are investigating their deaths as a murder-suicide, but the family is strongly rejecting this theory.

Rahim Brawner, the grieving uncle of the brothers, expressed his disbelief at the idea that the twins, who were inseparable, could have turned on each other.

“They’re very protective of each other. They love each other,” Brawner said in an interview with local WXIA-TV. “I couldn’t imagine them hurting each other because I’ve never seen them get into a fistfight before.”

The family is also questioning how the brothers ended up at Bell Mountain, as neither of them had ever visited the area, nor were they known to hike.

Yasmin Brawner, the twins’ aunt, emphasized that the brothers had a “huge support system” and would have reached out if they were facing any kind of distress.

“We know them. They wouldn’t do anything like this,” she said. “To say they did this to each other? No. Something happened in those mountains, and we want answers.”

Both brothers were found with their plane tickets still inside their wallets, adding to the mystery surrounding their deaths.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) has completed autopsies on the bodies, but further forensic tests are still pending before a final cause of death can be determined.

Authorities have not publicly named which of the brothers they believe may have been involved in the murder-suicide, leaving the family and community searching for answers.

The unexplained circumstances surrounding their deaths, along with the family’s refusal to accept the murder-suicide theory, continue to fuel suspicions that something more sinister occurred on that Georgia mountain.
