After 5 month of her death, the actual cause of death for the later American rapper, and and a former member of Three 6 Mafia group, Gangsta Boo has been revealed.
Gangsta Boo, the Memphis rapper arguably best known as a member of Three 6 Mafia, died earlier this year, she passed away on Sunday, January 1, 2023, at around 4 p.m. (local time) according to Fox 13 Memphis.
She was found unresponsive in her Memphis home on New Year’s Day and pronounced dead at the site, she was 43-years-old.
The news of her death surfaced on the internet space following a post made by her labelmate, DJ Paul K.O.M. who is also a founding member of Three 6 Mafia confirming the sad news by sharing a photo of the rapper with a caption on Instagram.
Gangsta Boo Cause of Death
According to an autopsy report, the cause of death was due to an accidental overdose. Fentanyl, cocaine, and ethanol (alcohol) were also listed as being found in the rapper’s system.

Gangsta Boo was featured on Three 6 Mafia’s debut album “Mystic Stylez” in 1993 and became the second female member to join the group following K-9. She would continue with the group with 1996’s “Chapter 1: The End” and 1997’s “Chapter 2: World Domination.”
Mitchell, who had previously been a member of Three 6 Mafia, departed the group in the early 2000s to release a second solo album and a number of mixtapes. She appeared on songs by well-known rappers including The Game, OutKast, Gucci Mane, and others.
The Queen of Memphis has more recently started collaborating with music platforms like Uproxx to release new music and performances. She collaborated with the magazine to release a video of her live rendition of “I’m Fresh” at the beginning of December.
