I arrived here nine years ago as a young man who wanted to realise my dream of playing for Real Madrid“.

To wear the pristine white kit, to wear the crest on my chest, to play the Santiago Bernabeu, to win titles and to be part of what it’s so famous for, to win the Champions League,” the statement read.

I can now look back, reflect and say with honesty that this dream became a reality and much, much more“.

To be a part of this club’s history and to acheive what we acheived while I was a Real Madrid player has been an incredible experience and one I will never forget. It has been an honour. Thank you! Hala Madrid!”

The Welsh man who joined Real Madrid from Tottenham in 2013 for a then world record fee of £85.3million deal is now available for free.

Bale will now have to weigh up his options ahead after his departure.

However, a future in football or early retirement depends on whether or not Wales qualify for the 2022 Qatar World Cup.

Gareth Bale has plenty of football left in him and his remaining ambition is to play in a World Cup and, hopefully after he’s led Wales to Qatar, he will need the right club to keep his fitness tip-top for November.

Townflex sports take a look at possible clubs who could sign the Welsh skipper.

Tottenham Hotspur, Cardiff City, Newcastle United, Southampton, AC Milan, Celtic, Rangers and DC United are all among the clubs interested in the Champions league winner, it’s believed the Welshman could seek a new experience outside Spain.

Could this be a different twist, or is he coming home?

Barnett recently told Portuguese outlet Record: “Gareth is leaving Real Madrid, but we have to wait for what Wales do.

Is it more likely to return to England? “I think so, but we’ll have to wait and see if Wales qualify.”
