The 2023 African Games football contests are about to get underway, with host country Ghana playing a major role in the festivities and the draw revealing some interesting matches.
Ghana is in Group A of the men’s competition with the likes of The Gambia, Benin, and the Republic of Congo, three tough rivals.
The 13th African Games will be held in Ghana, and the country is preparing to show off its football skills by entering its National Under-20 team, the Black Satellites, in the competition. The squad’s goal is to advance through the group stage and make a big impression in front of the home fans.

Along with South Sudan, Senegal, Uganda, and Tunisia, Group B’s captains are Nigeria, Ghana’s longtime rival in West Africa.
Quarterfinalists from the CAF Under-20 Championship were included in the draw. Ghana, serving as the host nation, was selected to repeat as champions, having won the 2011 competition under James Kwesi Appiah’s leadership.
