Despite the Reds earning 97 points — a title-winning amount in all but one previous Premier League season — Manchester City fended off Liverpool’s 2018/19 title assault.

Between 2013 and 2015, Guardiola and Klopp were dugout rivals in Germany’s Bundesliga, where Guardiola’s Bayern Munich dominated at the expense of Klopp’s Borussia Dortmund.
