Rapper Guru Says He Regrets Investing Over Ghs 65,000 on Watah

Ghanaian rapper, Maradona Yeboah Adjei, better known as Guru throws more light as to what led to him getting off the wrong foot with Ghanaian musical group “Wutah”.

According to what the rapper revealed, the reason behind their issue has to do with money, Greed on the path of WUTAH.

Wutah churned out some quality music over the years since their breakout year in 2005. But due to some issues, they had to part ways and do solo sometimes.

Rapper Guru in a recent interview disclosed that he has regretted trying to lend a helping hand in other to revamp the defunct musical group but turned out they were not appreciative of his effort and were looking down on him.

According to him, he spent nearly Ghs 65,000 on Watah’s AK-47 video alone where the initial percentage for profit sharing was agreed on for a 50/50 split.

He again added that the group later came around then said he [Guru] and his team have done nothing serious to deserve 50% of their money, they instead proposed a 70-30% sharing which they finalized on 60-40%.

“My record label believes in quality, so I spent nearly Ghs 65,000 on Watah’s AK-47 video alone.” The contract was unusual in that it was split 50/50.

“Do you remember how it ended?” After the song ‘Bronya’ became popular, the artists came and said, “We haven’t done much to deserve 50% of their money,” so they proposed 70% for themselves. We agreed to give them 60% because they weren’t attending the shows we had scheduled for them.”

IN Guru’s statement, when he tried to approach the team to request his percentage of the money, one of the group members told him he should stay off they and that he has done nothing to deserve a dime from them.

“‘You small boy, you want to chop our money, what have you done to deserve that amount,’ one of them said.” I’m even polishing some of the words that were used against us. Inquire of Baby Dapaah. She can attest to the unprintables they employ.

“Words that kill the human spirit, I regret investing in their craft at times.” I had to let go of everything because it was so filthy. “My entire investment went down the drain,” Guru lamented.
