Popular for his unique style, Black Sherif revealed a surprising source for his wardrobe a few weeks ago when he talked about his fashion choices: the lively second-hand clothing market, known locally as Kanta or foose.

Black Sherif discussed his fashion journey in an interview on Nana Ama McBrown’s Onua Showtime. He gave credit to his friends at Kantamanto, a thriving second hand clothing market, for helping him choose his distinctive looks.

“My boys in Kanta, who are also my clothes sellers, are in Kantamanto, and they help me choose the best clothes.” Black Sheriff said, “My boys Kijo and Co.,” emphasizing the teamwork that went into choosing his attire.

Expressing a preference for teamwork, Black Sherif drew a parallel to cinematic examples: “We think together. I love the teamwork. When you watch Avatar and the likes, you see how they work together. It’s all about the style and being creative about all you wear.”
