Tupac Shakur’s tragic murder continues to be a point of contention as Sheryl McCollum, a crime scene investigator, has come forward with claims linking Sean “Diddy” Combs to the 1996 killing.
McCollum, who was involved in the investigation into Shakur’s death, believes that the seeds of this event were planted years earlier, in 1994.

According to McCollum, the first incident involving Shakur’s shooting in 1994 during a robbery at Quad Studios in New York City is key to understanding his later murder.
She explained that the “All Eyez On Me” rapper was shot five times during what was claimed to be a robbery attempt, while Diddy and his entourage of 40 people were in the same studio, entirely unharmed.
“You ain’t gotta shoot somebody five times to take their jewelry and their money,” McCollum told NewsNation’s “Banfield on Friday.
After surviving the shooting, Shakur publicly accused Biggie Smalls, Bad Boy Records, and Diddy of involvement. The rapper’s suspicions were fueled by the apparent indifference shown by Diddy and his crew when he entered the studio bleeding. Shakur noted in a 1995 Vibe Magazine interview that no one approached him, including Diddy, despite their previous acquaintance.

“Nobody approached me. I noticed that nobody would look at me,” he recalled to Vibe magazine. He added that “Puffy was standing back too. I knew Puffy, he knew how much stuff I had done for Biggie before he came out.”
Two years later, Shakur was murdered in a drive-by shooting while leaving a boxing match in Las Vegas. The lack of video footage at both crime scenes has drawn scrutiny from McCollum, who theorized that someone close to Shakur likely knew his whereabouts, as he was “trapped” in an elevator during the first incident and in a car during the second.
Recent reports suggest that Tupac’s family is preparing to file a wrongful death lawsuit against Diddy, citing new information that has surfaced. According to an insider, “People from Diddy’s past are coming forward and providing info.”
The Shakur family has hired lawyer Alex Spiro, who has represented high-profile clients like Elon Musk and Megan Thee Stallion, to assist in the case. The investigation has taken a new turn following claims made by Duane “Keefe D” Davis, the man charged with Shakur’s murder. Davis suggested in a 2009 interview that Diddy had put a $1 million hit on Shakur.
Both Diddy and Biggie, who was himself murdered in 1997, vehemently denied any involvement in Tupac’s death. However, the resurfacing of these allegations and the possibility of a lawsuit have reignited interest in this long-unsolved case.
