TENSIONS RISE! Israel Warns South Beirut Residents to Evacuate

On Wednesday, November 6, the Israeli military issued an urgent evacuation notice for residents in two southern neighborhoods of Beirut, warning of imminent strikes targeting Hezbollah facilities.

The evacuation order, which was communicated through a post on X (formerly Twitter) by Israeli army spokesperson Avichay Adraee, advised those living near Hezbollah-affiliated sites to leave the area immediately.

“You are located near facilities and interests affiliated with Hezbollah, against which the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) will act in the near future,” Adraee wrote, along with a map highlighting the affected zones.

The warning signaled growing concerns about a potential escalation in the ongoing tensions between Israel and Hezbollah, the powerful militant group based in southern Lebanon.

The evacuation alert coincided with a speech by Hezbollah’s newly appointed leader, Naim Qassem, who vowed that the group was prepared for a confrontation with Israel.

Speaking to mark 40 days since the death of his predecessor, Qassem declared that Hezbollah had “tens of thousands of trained resistance combatants” ready for action.

He also warned that no location in Israel would be “off-limits” to their forces, signaling a commitment to confronting Israeli military operations.

This latest development highlights the rising tensions in the region as Israel continues to prepare for potential escalation with Hezbollah, which has long opposed Israeli influence in Lebanon and the broader Middle East.

The warning and Qassem’s remarks reflect the volatile security situation in southern Lebanon, where Hezbollah has maintained a strong presence and continued to challenge Israeli operations.
