Former U.S President, Joe Biden Diagnosed With Prostate Cancer

Former United States President Joe Biden has been diagnosed with prostate cancer.

This news was confirmed on Sunday, May 18, 2025, by his spokesperson. According to the statement, he was diagnosed on Friday, characterized by a Gleason score of 9 (Grade Group 5) with metastasis to the bone.

The statement also includes that the 82-year-old ex-president and his family are already reviewing treatment options

The statement said, “Last week, President Joe Biden was seen for a new finding of a prostate nodule after experiencing increasing urinary symptoms,”

“On Friday he was diagnosed with prostate cancer, characterized by a Gleason score of 9 (Grade Group 5) with metastasis to the bone. While this represents a more aggressive form of the disease, the cancer appears to be hormone-sensitive, which allows for effective management. The President and his family are reviewing treatment options with his physicians.” The statement added.

This news comes shortly as Democrats express their anger towards the past president, blaming him for the 2024 Election Loss against Donald Trump, with their main concern been Biden’s refusal to acknowledge his role in the party’s defeat.

One Democratic strategist, Anthony Coley, who worked under the Biden administration, said bluntly, “Would it be nice if Biden finally accepted and admitted he shouldn’t have run for a second term? Sure… but does it really matter at this point?” Still, he noted that history’s judgment might not be kind.

The party now finds itself in unfamiliar territory not just grappling with electoral loss but also soul-searching for a new direction. A new poll from the Associated Press-NORC Center shows only about one-third of Democrats are optimistic about their party’s future. That’s a stark contrast from July 2024, when 60% expressed confidence.
