Kemuel, a rapidly rising Nigerian musician, producer, and songwriter, has created a soundscape that defies categorization by fusing Afrobeat, Pop, and R&B rhythms into his own intricate musical tapestry.

Kemuel takes listeners on a trip through the ups and downs of love, heartbreak, and healing with the release of his eagerly awaited EP, “Clouds.”

This seven-track masterwork is proof of Kemuel’s swift development since his breakout hits, “Champagne Girl” and “Escape,” his critically praised first EP.

With layers of sound and emotion skillfully applied, each track on Kemuel’s “Clouds” EP is like a canvas, beckoning listeners to go deeply within themselves and feel a symbiotic connection through his artistic vision.

Kemuel’s obsession with the art of psychedelics, along with his love of storytelling and wordless painting, gave rise to the self-produced ‘Clouds’ EP.

A wonderful listening experience that alternates between upbeat songs of love, inspiration, and expression and gloomy tunes of grief and despair is the result of this aim.

The first song, “Alone,” establishes an atmosphere of reflective seclusion by fusing dancehall, pop, R&B, and soul with the warmth of summer nights to capture the complex sense of wanting to be alone but still with that special someone.

Through the use of Nigeria’s country code as a metaphor for an unattainable connection and a blend of electronic beats and Afrobeat components, “234” tells a story of longing and unrequited love through the rain. The song captures the sense of wanting for a distant lover.

The song “Polo,” which is infused with energy and nostalgia and features catchy marimba and amapiano rhythms, gives the EP a lively twist.

Kemuel’s song “GLNT” (Good Life No Trouble) is an insightful look at overcoming inner demons and finding optimism, demonstrating the healing power of music.

While “Water” illustrates the depth of true connections by comparing transient experiences with the need for something more substantial, “FIND” dives into the grief of lost love and shows how the Port Harcourt native turns sadness into beautiful songs.
