To bring holiday cheer, Mercedes-Benz and Ludacris have teamed up. The 45-year-old emcee surprised Atlanta children with more than 500 brand-new pairs of shoes before Christmas, according to SCNOW.

Shoes That Fit and Mercedes-holiday Benz’s charitable program Season to Shine partnered up to give children new shoes to wear to school after the holidays.

In order to give extra pairs of sneakers to elementary school pupils through his Ludacris Foundation, the Southern hip-hop entrepreneur who acts as one of the luxury car company’s brand ambassadors was enlisted by the luxury car manufacturer.

At Miles Elementary School, Luda said:

“It’s all about giving kids moments they’re going to remember for the rest of their lives,”

“And I think today is one of those days that just coming here and seeing the smiles on their faces and making sure that you know, everything is just given to them and knowing that we’re here to help and we’re here to encourage them.”

In a press statement, Mercedes’ CEO and president, Dimitris Psillakis, discussed the holiday gift and expressed his enthusiasm for this year’s shoe drive.

“We are thrilled to partner with Shoes That Fit and donate sneakers to students across the country. This is a tangible step to ensure children arrive at school with confidence, prepared to learn, play, and succeed.”

Thalise Perry, the principal, and Dr. Lisa Herring, the Atlanta Public Schools’ superintendent, also discussed the advantages of the sneaker program. They argued that by giving the kids the chance to get new shoes, they would feel better about themselves and develop more self-assurance.

According to Herring, the children’s relationship with Luda and Mercedes gives them “the chance to have great confidence as they walk in confidence in new shoes that have been supplied for them.”

“So when they feel good about themselves, they look good [and] they will perform high inside of our classroom,” Perry expressed. “So many of our students each day, we look to make sure that we can provide support for them, support for their families. And this is one key way of doing just that.”
