Manny Pacquiao quits boxing to run for presidency

Filipino professional boxer, Manny Pacquiao, after spending so many years in the ring has decided to quit boxing for good.

The 42-year-old made this known in an announcement made on his official Facebook page on Wednesday, September 28, 2021.

This comes weeks after Pacquiao lost what turned out to be his last professional fight, against Cuban Yordenis Ugas in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Manny Pacquiao quits boxing: The boxer, who is a married father of five, is regarded as one of the professional boxers of all time.

The Philippine boxing legend is walking away from poxing so he can focus on his political ambitions as he is running for the presidency in the upcoming 2022, Philippine elections.

Manny Pacquiao thanked the whole world, especially the Filipino people, fans who stood by him showing their supports all these years he has been in the ring fighting.

“As I hang up my boxing gloves, I would like to thank the whole world especially the Filipino people for supporting Manny Pacquiao,” he said, fighting back tears.
