This match marked the second consecutive game in which the Ligue 1 leaders dropped points, and Mbappe was substituted in both matches, having also been taken off after 65 minutes in their 1-1 draw with Rennes in Paris.

PSG’s Mbappe Sparks Speculation with Substitution and Tunnel Wink

Later, Mbappe was seen winking at the camera as he walked through the tunnel, engrossed in his mobile phone.

Fans reacted, with one saying, “He doesn’t care,” while another speculated, “Bro already thinking of winning the UCL with Real next season.”

Observers noted his absence from the bench, with one commenting, “Wow, not even on the bench,” and another suggesting, “Mbappe and PSG both need a new direction.”

Mbappe joined PSG from Monaco for £150 million in 2018, following a season-long loan in the French capital. Since then, he has scored 244 goals in 292 games and has won five Ligue 1 titles.

PSG boss Enrique explained the decision to substitute Mbappe, stating: “I have been in football for quite a long time, you must know that everything is important in this kind of club.”

“Sooner or later we will play without Mbappé, we have to get used to that.”
