Introducing Derrick Addy, Ghanaian Afro Dancehall Musician; Skatty Addy

Derrick Addy born on September 09, 1991, popularly known with the stage name Skatty Addy, is a Ghanaian afro dancehall musician and songwriter from Accra. Skatty Addy has a strong West African background with his father and mother being Ghanaians.

He had his basic and primary education at Winston Salem International School and then continued at Ebenezer Sec. School, Dansoman for his secondary education.

He then went on to the Advanced Institute of Multimedia, where he graduated in 2020 and obtained an advanced certificate in Music Technology.

He started his music career seriously in 2016 and gained popularity in the Bubiashie community with his music and recorded “Pressure City” which gained more attention from the public after the heavy promotion of the song in various adjoining neighbourhoods.

He created Street Gang Movement(SGM) as an independent record label in 2016 in honour of his brand, his fanbase and his talent which were growing rapidly despite hostility from rival musicians in the neighbourhood.

Skatty Addy has also released many other singles which include, Yaaro; Rough Rider(featuring Aboot); Taking Over; Nipa y3 Forkin; No War; Haters; I believe; End Time; Holy Bible; etc. which has been added to mainstream music platform Audiomack.
