This particular new initiative, which was announced on Wednesday, October 2, introduces a more streamlined approach to monetizing content hereby uniting three powerful tools: In-stream ads, Ads on Reels, as well as the Performance bonus.

Interestingly, with this new program, creators can now monetize various types of content on Facebook, including the ever-popular Reels, long-form videos, photos, and even text posts.

For many creators, this marks a significant shift, as previously only a third of them were able to generate income from more than one of Facebook’s monetization programs, mainly due to eligibility restrictions.

In effect, Meta has been helping creators thrive on its platform since 2017, with more than four million creators successfully monetizing their content.

Facebook has paid out an impressive $2 billion in the last year alone. However, the company acknowledged that the fragmented nature of its monetization programs has left some creators with missed opportunities.

This new beta aims to fix that by consolidating Facebook’s existing offerings into a unified, easy-to-navigate system.

One of the standout features of this new program is the surge in earnings from Reels and short-form videos. Payouts have grown by over 80% in the last year, highlighting the significant earning potential of short-form content.

By simplifying the monetization process, Meta hopes to encourage more creators to engage with multiple formats, making it easier for them to track performance and maximize their income.

Meta has already started inviting one million creators to join the beta, with broader enrollment set to open in 2025.

Creators eager to get a head start can sign up for early access through their Professional dashboard or Meta Business Suite. With this program, Meta aims to make it easier—and more rewarding—for creators to turn their content into a sustainable source of income.
