“Theresa Awuni, the Member of Parliament for Okaikoi North, has received reports from her constituency that are quite depressing and unsettling.

According to Hon. Agbodza, there have been “recent threats by the Akufo-Addo/Bawumia government to evict these same people from that settlement,” which may indicate that the fire was started intentionally.

Numerous families have experienced major losses as a result of the claimed arson, which has forced thousands of families to relocate. As inquiries into this concerning development are ongoing, Mr. Agbodza poses queries about the possible reasons for this action.

As many continue to count their losses, this circumstance has resulted in the displacement of thousands of people.

One cannot completely rule out the possibility that the criminal and cowardly forces behind this conduct had ulterior motives, even as we wait for inquiries into this concerning development.

Answers are desperately needed for a few unanswered questions. What drives these arsonists, and who are they? Is there a political motive behind this fire to permanently displace and deny certain citizens their right to vote during a critical election year? He questioned, “Could this be another strategy used by government troops to accomplish their ultimate goal of evicting the populace?

Social media users’ responses to Agbodza’s message were divided; some accused him of politicising the tragedy and propagating untrue rumours, while others agreed with him and denounced the government for allegedly being involved.
