Mr Ibu sceptical around new faces – Mr. Ibu, a well-known Nigerian (Nollywood) actor, discusses his near-death experience once more and emphasizes how cautious he is today with new people.
It will be vividly recalled that the actor had been experiencing health concerns for a while as a result of rumors, which he personally corroborated, that he had been poisoned.
This has forced the actor who is born with his legal name John Okafor to now be very mindful of the kind of people he now meets, and interacts with.

He previously disclosed that the food poisoning attempt made on him to terminate his priceless life was engineered and executed with the assistance of a close friend.

In a recent interview with Nigeria’s Sunday Scoop newspaper, the actor claimed that nowadays, anytime he is among fresh people, he is quite cautious.
“These days, I am usually skeptical because I later found out that it was somebody I had helped in the past (who poisoned me).”
Despite having survived the poisoning, Mr. Ibu, who is extremely grateful to God for his life, is still taking medication since he is still unfit.
“If not for God, the result would have been bad. As I speak with you now, I am still being treated somewhere in Guzape, Abuja.” he said
Additionally, the actor chastised the Nigerian government for doing more to protect moviemakers.
He said, “I expect the Federal Government to act on this. Whether we like it or not, we (actors) are serving the government. The movies we make are for the benefit of the general public. If the government wants to better protect us, they can do it.”
