Following the Rivers State governor’s election, Popular Nigerian actress Tonto Dikeh announced that she would not be returning to Nollywood.

The celebrated Nigerian actress, Tonto Dikeh, 37, in a recent interview with BBC News Pidgin, revealed that she has no interest in returning to her acting days, calling it a quit.

This comes shortly after she was named the African Democratic Congress (ADC) deputy governorship candidate in Rivers State.

According to the mother of one, she is done, and would not even return should her party lose the governorship election in Rivers State.

Tonto Dikeh Quits Acting: she disclosed that in the past 10 years she has only featured in two movies and it has been a long time since she appeared in a movie, adding that she does not like movies like she used to again, she made this known when asked if she would love to completely retire from acting.

“I don’t like movies like that again and it’s been a long time since I acted on screen, you know.

“I’ve acted in about two films in 10 years, I appreciate that my path started from Nollywood, it is something that I respect, but it’s not something that has been in my life.

“So even after the election, it’s not something I’ll return to, but I’ll love to contribute to the industry when I get into power,”  she said.

She went on to praise her colleagues Funke Akindele and Banky W for their political daring and involvement. She believes in them and believes they have a vision for the people.

“It is not easy for Funke and Banky W at their level to put themselves out there to effect change because criticisms and so many things are involved.

“I believe in Funke, I believe in Banky. With them, I can hold onto something and say I believe that they have a vision for the people,” she Added.
