Nana Aba Anamoah, a well-known figure in Ghanaian media, revealed details concerning a significant but unreported period of her life.
She revealed in a 3 Music TV interview that she had given up on getting a medical degree after finding out she was pregnant.
Anamoah was candid in the interview while discussing the sacrifices she made to ensure her child’s wellbeing.

She admitted, “Did I sacrifice school? I did. For one year, and I’ve never said this before, but I got admission to medical school. You know, I was a science student as well, so I got admission to medical school, and I had to let that go.
It wasn’t easy to decide to drop out of medical school, especially given her father’s expectations of her.
“My father wanted me to be a doctor. I didn’t want to be. My father thought I’d be a fantastic doctor. He was living his life through me. I think he wanted to be a doctor; he couldn’t do it, so he thought, ‘Oh, my daughter will be a doctor,'” she explained
Anamoah realized after giving it some thought that she wouldn’t have been a good doctor. “I would have been a disaster, and it came at the right time,” she confessed. Interestingly, she noted that her father, despite his initial expectations, was understanding. “For my father, he was not bothered because we were very close,” she added
Additionally, Anamoah made hints that there is more to her narrative than what the general public is aware of and implied that her involvement with “Woman of Valour” was partly inspired by her experience. She noted the programme, which aims to inspire and empower people by bringing attention to the often-untold tales of women and their difficulties.
