Popular Nollywood actor, Yul Edochie is currently in the trend after revealing his reason for not attending his colleague actor, Junior Pope’s funeral.
The Nigerian music industry was hit with bad news following the death of the late Nollywood star, Junior Pope, 43, who passed away on April 10, 2024, alongside 4 others after their boat capsized in the Anam River while returning from a movie shoot.
The actor was laid to rest over the weekend as his burial service took place on Friday, May 17, 2024, at St. Peter’s Catholic Parish, Ukehe, in Enugu State.
Jnr Pope’s funeral was graced with the presence of a lot of actors who went to show their last respect, but Yul was nowhere to be found at the burial service.
Explaining his reasoning for not being able to attend the funeral service, the actor, Yul, claims he failed to show up because there was a conflict between himself and the late actor.
Yul who refused to give more details into what transpired between them,claimed thatd although he took Jnr Pope as a brother, he was rather betrayed by him.

Yul went on to advise his followers to be careful what they wish people for it might come back to hunt them, adding that in due time he will be sharing more details in regards to the conflict so others can learn from it.
He wrote, “I didn’t want to say anything till after his burial. I know many asked why I wasn’t there. Why I haven’t said anything about it since.
“I took him like a brother and good friend. I was there for him when he needed me. But he stabbed me in the back, repeatedly. That’s life!
“I’ll drop the full details soon so others can learn from it. Be careful what you wish people, it could come to you,” he added.
Yul’s reason for not attending the funeral was, however, met with mixed reactions from social media users, some bashing Yul for calling himself a pastor and acting the way he did.

Speculations emerged regarding a possible rift between Yul and Junior Pope, with rumors circulating that Junior Pope had supported Yul’s ex-wife, May Edochie, following Yul’s remarriage.
This speculation has fueled assumptions that Yul’s recent remarks were directed at the late actor, further adding complexity to the situation.
