Nurse Testifies Mohbad Reacted Negatively to Injection Before His Tragic Death

The auxiliary nurse who treated the late Nigerian singer, Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, has given her testimony at the Coroner’s Inquest into his death.

Feyisayo Ogedengbe, the nurse who administered injections to Mohbad on the day he passed, revealed shocking details of his final hours during a session at the Coroner’s Court in Ikorodu, Lagos, on Friday, March 14.

Ogedengbe told the court that she was called by Ayobami Sodiq (also known as Spending) to treat Mohbad for a cut on September 11, 2023.

The following day, Ogedengbe administered a tetanus injection, along with paracetamol and antibiotic shots. However, after receiving the third injection, Mohbad reportedly began to feel nauseous and vomited.

According to Ogedengbe, Mohbad experienced weakness and developed goosebumps, prompting concern from those present.

“I first gave him a tetanus injection and paracetamol,” Ogedengbe testified. “After the third injection, he started feeling nauseous, then he threw up and became very weak.

Goosebumps appeared on his body. His wife, Omowunmi, explained that this was a normal reaction for him.”

Ogedengbe continued, describing how Mohbad’s wife, Omowunmi, reassured her that it was a usual response, but the situation worsened as Mohbad became increasingly unwell.

“Wunmi said if they poured water on him, he would calm down,” Ogedengbe recounted. She also explained that she and DJ Bami, another individual present, quickly rushed to two different pharmacies in an attempt to find an antidote.

Tragically, by the time they returned, Mohbad had started convulsing. Ogedengbe instructed them to rush him to the hospital immediately, but he passed away shortly thereafter.

Following the nurse’s testimony, the case was adjourned to March 21, 2024, for further hearings.

The Lagos State Director of Public Prosecutions has since stated that Ogedengbe and Sodiq would face charges for reckless and negligent acts under the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015, in connection with Mohbad’s death.
