Obi Cubana, a popular Nigerian socialite and entrepreneur, born his legal name as Obinna Iyiegbu, per the information gathered by Townflex has allegedly been arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over alleged money laundering and tax fraud-related issues.
According to reports, this alleged arrest took place on Monday, November 1st, 2021. Obi arrived at the headquarters of the EFCC at Jabi, Abuja, at about noon on Monday and was undergoing interrogation as at that time.
Obi Cubana Arrested By EFCC: As it stands, is is not yet made clear as to what he is been charged with but a source told Punch Newspaper that his case involves and alleged money laundering and tax fraud.
“Obi Cubana was arrested and brought to the EFCC headquarters on Monday afternoon over allegations of money laundering and tax fraud. He is being grilled by detectives as we speak.” – According to Punches’ source.

The spokesperson for the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Wilson Uwujaren, said he is yet to be briefed on the development.
It would be recalled that back in July, the business mogul, Obi Cubana organized a lavish funeral for his late mother, and it was alleged that over 200 cows were killed for the funeral.
The funeral was well attended by wealthy Nigerian businessmen as well as popular figures in Naija including Top-Notch musicians.
From that moment, fingers started pointing at Obi, as many questions were being raised regarding the source of his wealth.
