Back then, many suggested that the galamsey queen get jailed for her crime but that did not happen as the then Senior Minister, Yaw Osafo Marfo, justified the decision, arguing that jailing the galamsey queen had diplomatic consequences for Ghana in her quest for economic support from China.

S[eaking in a recent interview with Citi News in regards to the return of Aisha, Mr. Bonsu said our leaders need to be firm in handling issues as he suggests that all officials who played a role in the return of the kingpin must resign.

“The first thing I will say is that our leaders who have really been at the forefront of handling issues relating to Aisha Huang should resign.”

“If you look at it carefully, there is selective administration of justice when it comes to making sure people who are found culpable of the law really face the law.” he said.

According to reports, the woman in question came to Ghana from a neighboring country through a land border but reports also confirmed she did not pass through Togo border (Aflao), other checks at Elubo border with Cote D’Ivoire borders also confirmed there were no records of her name ‘Aisha Huang’.

She upon arrival got herself a Ghana Card in February 2022 with a new name, Huang En.

it has been established that she always sneaks out of Ghana if she picks up information about her potential arrest. Everything has an end as she finally got arrested.

Aisha was arraigned before the court of law on Friday, September 2, 2022, but her plea to the charges of illegal mining activities are yet to be taken by the court presided over by Bright Acquah since the court had no Chinese interpreter at the time.

She is currently facing an additional charge of engaging in mining without a license

Three other accomplices who were also arrested also appeared before the court of law on Monday, September 5th, they pleaded not guilty to the charges.

However, they have all been remanded into custody to reappear on September 14, 2022.
