Arsenal supporter Piers Morgan was absolutely livid following his team’s disappointing 2-0 loss to Aston Villa over the weekend.

Taking to social media, the outspoken TV personality didn’t hold back, once again making a passionate plea for Cristiano Ronaldo to join the Gunners while also criticizing manager Mikel Arteta.

Morgan’s frustration stemmed from Arsenal’s missed opportunity to capitalize on Liverpool’s stumble against Crystal Palace.

Despite starting the weekend at the top of the Premier League table, Arsenal faltered at home, conceding two goals to Villa and relinquishing their position to Manchester City.

Morgan didn’t shy away from pointing out Arsenal’s defensive lapses, particularly in failing to prevent Leon Bailey’s goal. With City now firmly in the lead and only six matches remaining, Morgan believes Arsenal’s hopes of clinching the title are all but over.

The recent loss has once again highlighted Arsenal’s issues up front. Gabriel Jesus missed several clear chances and had a subpar performance, while Kai Havertz also failed to convert key opportunities despite Arsenal’s first-half dominance, which ultimately led to nothing.

With Manchester City now leading by two points ahead of both Arsenal and Liverpool, Piers Morgan didn’t hold back his criticism on Twitter.

“We’ve choked again. Unbelievable.”

“Arsenal’s lack of a proper striker has come back to haunt us. So many chances in first half, but none taken. If Watkins was playing for us, we’d have won this 3-0.”

“Arsenal have been brilliant, Odegaard sensational… but our finishing oddly poor. Need to sharpen up in front of goal.”

Piers Morgan emphasizing his belief in Cristiano Ronaldo as a prolific scorer for Arsenal.

“I think @Cristiano would score 25+ goals a season in our team with the service he’d get. Arteta’s refusal to prioritise a top striker is his one major blindspot.”

Despite being 39 years old, Ronaldo has been in phenomenal form, scoring 56 goals in 62 games for Al-Nassr since his move to the Saudi Pro League in January 2023. This season, he leads the charts with 29 goals, outshining players like Karim Benzema and Aleksandar Mitrovic.

Morgan’s interview with Ronaldo back in 2022 played a part in ending Ronaldo’s second spell at Manchester United, as Ronaldo criticized the club’s management and coach Erik ten Hag.

Morgan also took a swipe at Ten Hag following United’s recent fortunate draw against Bournemouth, suggesting that Ten Hag was responsible for Ronaldo’s departure from the club.

Ronaldo had a successful comeback season at Old Trafford in 2021/22, scoring 18 Premier League goals. However, his relationship with Ten Hag led to a decrease in playing time before his controversial interview on “Piers Morgan: Uncensored.”

Paul Merson Writes off Arsenal’s Title Hopes After Aston Villa Loss

Paul Merson has declared that Arsenal’s hopes for the title are “100% gone” after their unexpected defeat to Aston Villa. Speaking on Sky Sports, Merson expressed his disappointment, saying, “You don’t get these chances, you’ll sit there at home tonight and go it is gone.”

“For me it is gone. You’ve worked that hard for 32 games to go that extra yard, just one yard, to stop that cross and it is lazy.”

Last season, Arsenal faltered in the final stretch after dominating earlier. This time, they aimed to avoid a repeat but their loss has given the advantage back to the champions, leading Merson to believe that their title hopes are dashed.

He explained, “They are chasing the best team in the world, who do it year in, year out. They reel off wins – when was the last time they got beat? They just reel them off, we’re not sitting here wondering how City will be for the rest of the season – they’ll reel them off. If it was someone else they were chasing then every chance, but Arsenal are bang out of luck.”
