Rapper Edem lands in court for allegedly knocking and killing unknown woman

Denning Edem Hotor, a.k.a. Edem, is a rapper and musician who was charged with first-degree murder on Monday, December 11, 2023, at the Kaneshie District Court.

As he was leaving a television show at Abeka Junction on Saturday night, the incident is said to have happened on the George Walker Bush Highway at around two in the morning, according to a news report by graphic.com.gh.

The report states that at the time of the incident, Edem was operating an unregistered Honda Touring car.

Sadly, the nameless woman who was supposedly knocked down did not make it out of the incident alive.

Two charges were brought against Edem: negligently causing harm and driving with carelessness and inconsideration.

The rapper did not enter a plea during the court proceedings that were overseen by Nana Abena Asor Owusu Amenyo.

Nonetheless, GH¢50,000 in bail was granted to him along with two sureties.

His subsequent court date is set for February 15, 2024.
