Real Madrid set new team record with 1-0 win over Atalanta

Zinedine Zidane’s version of Real Madrid keeps setting new milestones, and tonight’s record will be remembered in years to come after their dominance in Italy has to be acknowledged.

The Spanish giants, who were the only La Liga side to claim a win in the Round of 16 games, extended their unbeaten streak when playing against Serie A rivals in the top club competition in Europe.

That streak began in 2016 (after Zidane’s arrival) and added another chapter earlier today.

According to stats expert Mister Chip, Real Madrid has turned things around when visiting Italian rivals in the UCL/European Champions Cup.

Los Blancos had only been able to win four of their first 30 games in Italian soil, but since Zidane’s arrival, the Spanish capital giants have won six out of six games against Italian opposition.

Such games include victories over Roma (2-0), Napoli (3-1), Juventus (3-0), Roma (2-0), Inter (2-0), and Atalanta (1-0). Added to that, their penalty shootout win over Atlético Madrid in 2016 was also held in Italy.
