Nollywood actress Regina Daniels has shared previously undisclosed details about her family’s initial resistance to her relationship with Nigerian politician Ned Nwoko.
Speaking during a live social media session, Daniels directly addressed the rumors that she was forced into marrying her billionaire husband, Nwoko, who is much older than her.
The actress laid to rest these speculations, revealing that her family, particularly her mother, initially disapproved of her relationship with Nwoko. Despite the familial opposition, Daniels claimed that she was resolute in her decision to pursue the relationship on her own terms.
Daniels during the session shared what led her to realize her commitment to Nwoko. She described a memorable day when her mother insisted on a family outing, even though she had plans to meet with her boyfriend at the time.
What had been planned as a family day turned out to be an historic turning point in her life, “I was so angry with my mum for insisting on a family outing,” she recalled with a laugh. “But when we got there, I met this cute man.” Daniels added, “The moral of the story is, don’t let a boyfriend hinder you from finding your husband.”

In her live session, Daniels also revealed that she had been involved in multiple relationships but instead, chose Nwoko as her life partner. Rather than deter her, the initial disapproval from her family only served to strengthen her resolve.
“When people assume I had no choice or was pressured by my mum, they’re completely wrong,” she asserted, clarifying that the decision was hers alone. “My entire family was against it. But I knew what I wanted.”
As a beloved figure in Nollywood, Daniels hinted that this conversation was just a glimpse into her life and that she may share more insights into her relationship journey with Nwoko and the early family objections that came with it in the future.

Nigerian actress Regina Daniels married billionaire businessman Ned Nwoko in 2019. The couple welcomed their first son, Munir Neji Nwoko, in June 2020. The couple then welcomed their second son, named Prince Khalifa Nwoko, who was born in June 2022.
