Riky Rick, a well-known South African rapper, has died. On Wednesday, February 23, he died at the age of 34.

In a statement to the media, the musician’s family, Rikhado Muziwendlovu Makhado, confirmed the news.

Riky ‘Ricky’ Makhado (34) was a son, husband, father, brother, and uncle who sadly passed away in the early hours of today morning (February 23rd) in Johannesburg, according to the statement.

“Affectionately known as Riky Rick around the world, he was profoundly loved by his family, friends, and the whole entertainment business,” the family said.

He is well-known for his devotion to his family, friends, and community. Riky’s role in nurturing and developing youthful musical talent has been widely documented and will be remembered for a long time.”

Rick is rumored to have committed himself in his home, despite the fact that official reports on the circumstances surrounding his death have yet to be released.

Following the viral success of Rick’s farewell tweet, “I’ll return a stronger man,” the rumors began to fly. “This place is still my home,” he wrote on the morning of his death, about 1:20 a.m.

The rapper was said to be suffering from acute depression, which he had previously revealed.
After the loss of his father, Riky revealed in a 2020 interview that he suffered from “severe depression” and found himself on a “destructive path.”
