Ruth Kadiri, a popular Nollywood actress and filmmaker, has issued a stern warning to Ghanaian television stations that are broadcasting her content without proper authorization.
In a video shared on her social media platforms, the filmmaker expressed her disappointment and anger.
She expressed her love for her Ghanaian fans and the country as a whole but voiced her dissatisfaction with some major Ghanaian TV stations. These stations have been airing her content without seeking her permission, which is the correct and legal procedure.
Kadiri mentioned that it’s not just one major TV station, but she has noticed several other stations in the country taking her content, editing it, and then broadcasting it on their channels without her consent. She finds this unacceptable because they failed to ask for her permission.

She also explained that the reason she chose not to watermark her content was the concern that it might diminish the quality of the content.
Kadiri issued a strong warning, stating that if such infringements continue, she will take legal action. Her lawyers are prepared to address any TV stations that continue to use her content on their channels without properly obtaining it.
She said; “I love the country as a whole but I am very disappointed that a major TV station in Ghana would go on my platform, rip my contents apart, show it on TV like they have the license to do that.
“It is not even just one, not two, not three. I don’t want to put a watermark on my contents because I feel like it’s going to make it look taggy. This is the first warning and it is going to be the last one, because the next time, you’re going to hear from my lawyers.
I beg you, let’s not start dragging ourselves through the mud. I expect so much from you because you know how expensive it is to create contents and instead of you to buy this content, you would rather rip it and show it on national TV.”
