Sarkodie expresses dissatisfaction with royalties system

Along with other well-known figures from the creative industry, renowned Ghanaian rapper Sarkodie participated in a panel discussion at the 3i Africa Summit Partners and Stakeholders Mixer in Accra.

The primary objective of the conversation was to examine the relationship between Fintech, politics, and the creative industry.

Throughout the debate, Sarkodie provided clarification on Ghana’s music royalties system, emphasising the need to establish a structured framework to ensure that musicians receive their just remuneration.

“The royalty system has been a big issue here in Ghana, but there isn’t much that can be done—it’s just a matter of setting it up and collecting the money back,” he said.

Sarkodie was on a panel with notable people including KOD, Chief Moomen, and director Juliet Asante.
