Sheila Wairimu, a Kenyan socialite also known as Shay Diva Africa, was given a four-year prison term for robbing her 61-year-old lover of his automobile.

The socialite was reportedly found guilty of car theft and given a sentence of four years in prison with the option of a Ksh200,000 fine.

According to reports, Shay Diva Africa gained access to PJ Dodhia Kumar’s TIMs/NTSA account and changed the car’s ownership to her name without following the proper succession procedures.

Shay Diva Receives 4-Year Sentence For Stealing Her Lover's Car — Shay Diva

The National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) reported that at 11:45 p.m. on April 26, Shay Diva Africa logged into her late lover’s TIMs account and submitted a transfer of the log book.

At 2 o’clock the following day, the transfer was permitted, but there were no supporting paperwork from the owner, raising questions.

After learning that Shay Diva had taken possession of the socialite’s 61-year-old lover’s car, the deceased’s relatives reported the incident to the police, stating that Shay Diva had been given the deceased’s Landcruiser on a “use and return basis” because they were dating.

Meanwhile, Shay Diva said in court during her defense that her lover had transferred the Landcruiser to her without her knowledge and that she discovered this when she entered her NTSA account.

To that effect, Shay Diva was accused of blackmailing the late businessman, according to one of the five witnesses who testified against her in court.

Shay Diva was found guilty of stealing, forging documents, and tampering with family property by Kitale Chief Magistrate Julius N’garng’ar.

A decision in the case was made on Monday, December 5, 2022, and mandated a four-year prison sentence as well as the restitution of the Toyota Landcruiser 200 series to the deceased lover’s family.
