The Director-General of the Ghana Education Service (GES) has said even though first-year SHS students will report to school on Wednesday, March 10, 2021, however academic activities will commence one week later.

Professor Kwasi-Opoku Amankwa announced this speaking on the Accra-based UTV’s Adekye Nsroma show monitored by Educationweb.com.gh.

“The first-year SHS student’s will report to school on 10th March as earlier scheduled but we are in consultations with SHS Headmasters/mistress to extend the date to start academic activities for this academic year”.

According to him, this will enable the Form 1 students to have ample time to prepare for teaching and learning amid the delay in the release of the 2020 Senior High School (SHS) placement as a result of the coronavirus.

“So a Form 1 student can print his or her placement enrolment form on Friday and report to school on March 10, 2021, but academic activities will start March 15, 2021” he told the host of UTV’s Adekye Nsroma to show.
