The Director-General of the Ghana Education Service (GES) has said even though first-year SHS students will report to school on Wednesday, March 10, 2021, however academic activities will commence one week later.

Professor Kwasi-Opoku Amankwa announced this speaking on the Accra-based UTV’s Adekye Nsroma show monitored by Educationweb.com.gh.

“The first-year SHS student’s will report to school on 10th March as earlier scheduled but we are in consultations with SHS Headmasters/mistress to extend the date to start academic activities for this academic year”.

According to him, this will enable the Form 1 students to have ample time to prepare for teaching and learning amid the delay in the release of the 2020 Senior High School (SHS) placement as a result of the coronavirus.
