The Crown Prosecution Service declared in February of last year that the case against the now-22-year-old had been dropped. The charges against him included attempted rape and violence.
Public outcry followed reports last year that United intended to keep him after an internal probe. Ratcliffe admits that a decision on what happens next will need to be taken when Greenwood returns, but he maintains that nothing has been decided yet.

“If he were to play honestly for Manchester United and perform admirably, both the supporters and we would feel at ease.”
Greenwood has a deal with United through the summer of 2025.
