Memphis police have identified Jayden Dandridge, 21, as the suspect in connection with the March 22 shooting that left rapper Sayso P dead and Houston rapper Sauce Walka injured.

A warrant has been issued for Dandridge, who faces charges of first-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder, firearm possession during a dangerous felony, and auto theft.

The shooting took place outside the Westin Hotel in downtown Memphis at approximately 2:42 p.m. EST.

Authorities say that Sayso P, whose real name was Letorian Hunt, was pronounced dead at the scene after suffering gunshot wounds.

Sauce Walka, born Albert Mondane, was also shot but was later transported to Regional One hospital in non-critical condition, where he was treated for a gunshot wound to the leg.

Surveillance footage from the scene allegedly shows Dandridge exiting the backseat of a white vehicle carrying an object and a backpack.

He was reportedly accompanied by another individual dressed in dark clothing with their face concealed. Police have released these images in an effort to locate Dandridge and bring him into custody.

Sauce Walka, who has since recovered from his injuries, took to Instagram to share a tribute to his fallen friend, Sayso P.

He honored his late friend by completing tasks Sayso P had planned, including visiting local Memphis spots like Smackers restaurant, which the rapper had recommended.

In his emotional post, Walka wrote, “Errthing u had planned for me I stayed and completed the mission no matter what’s the risk I had to complete the mission for u.”

The Memphis Police Department assured the public that the incident was not random, stating that both the victims and suspects were known to each other.

A $6,000 cash reward has been offered for information leading to the arrest of Dandridge or the identification of any other suspects involved.
