A fatal accident involving a Benz Sprinter and a taxi on the Techiman-Wenchi highway in the Bono East Region claims one life, leaving four others injured.
According to the Wenchi District Police Commander, Deputy Superintendent of Police ( DSP) Kofi Odro Amponsah, they had a distress call and rushed to the scene of the crush.
He revealed that the incident happened on Tuesday evening, August 31, 2021, at around 6:00 pm just after the Nkonsia Police Barrier.

In his statement, the Wenchi District Police Commander, Deputy Superintendent of Police ( DSP) Kofi Odro Amponsah said that the Benz Sprinter driver who was heading towards Wa attempted overtaking which led to a head-on with the Opel Astra that was heading towards Techiman from Wenchi.
“The driver of the Benz Sprinter, heading towards Wa, attempted to overtake, leading to head-on with the Opel Astra which was heading towards Techiman from Wenchi,” he told Adom New Journalist.
Techiman-Wenchi Road Crash: The four persons who were badly injured and are in critical conditions have were then rushed to the Wenchi Methodist Hospital for treatment according to the Police Commander.
The remains of the deceased male, identified as Francis Eleweh, 36-years-old, have been sent to the Wenchi Methodist Hospital morgue for preservation and autopsy.
Reports gathered by Townflex.com also have it that, the brother of the deceased revealed that his late brother left behind a pregnant wife and two children.
