Teshie Kpaashimo

The streets of Teshie were filled with color, rhythm, and fearless expression as the community celebrated its annual Kpaashimo festival on Sunday, August 31, 2025. Known for its bold chants and songs, the festival remains a space where no secret is left untold and praises are sung only when they are truly deserved.

Groups from different clans moved through the town, each carrying distinctive flags that proudly displayed their heritage. With voices rising in unison, they sang about the realities of life in the community, touching on social, cultural, and even political issues. The chants, both powerful and fearless, turned Teshie’s streets into a stage for truth and tradition.

The TrenderHQ team joined in the experience, guided by Joshua Hammond, CEO of the Joseph Ashitey Hammond Foundation, whose warm introduction to the people made the day even more memorable. For nearly four hours, the celebration carried a rhythm that never slowed down, proving once again that Kpaashimo is more than a festival – it is the living heartbeat of Teshie.
