A 23-year-old Texas woman has been charged with murder after allegedly killing her boyfriend, an Army veteran, following a confrontation over text messages from another woman.
Tatyana Evans was arrested on February 11, 2025, after her boyfriend, 28-year-old Geovanni Montague, was found dead outside his Houston home on February 9.
Montague had sustained multiple gunshot wounds, and authorities suspect the incident stemmed from jealousy.
According to Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez, Evans and Montague were involved in a volatile relationship, with the murder possibly triggered by Evans discovering messages from another woman on his phone.
Investigators reportedly found video footage of Evans’ car leaving the scene early on the morning of the murder, around the same time witnesses reported hearing gunshots.

Evans allegedly confronted Montague that night about the messages, and police say she confessed to shooting him during questioning.
In court on February 12, Evans made headlines when she interrupted the judge, who reprimanded her for shouting in the courtroom.
“You claimed Mr. Montague grabbed at you, but you then shot Mr. Montague five or six times,” the judge said, according to ABC 13.
Montague, who was a decorated Army veteran, had been working for Amazon at the time of his death.
Evans has been charged with murder and is currently being held on a $250,000 bond. Her next court appearance is scheduled for April 3, 2025.
