President-elect Donald Trump has confirmed that Susie Wiles, his trusted political strategist, will serve as his White House Chief of Staff in his second term.
In a statement released Thursday, Trump praised Wiles as “tough, smart, innovative, and universally admired,” and hailed her as “one of the greatest political operatives” who played a key role in his victorious campaigns.
Wiles, 67, is the first woman to be appointed as Chief of Staff in U.S. history. She played a central role in Trump’s 2024 campaign, which saw him win a historic victory over Democrat Kamala Harris.
Known for her behind-the-scenes leadership, Wiles earned the nickname “Ice Baby” for her cool demeanor and strategic acumen during high-stakes moments.

Her extensive experience includes managing key operations in Florida during Trump’s 2016 campaign, which was crucial to his victory.
She also guided Governor Ron DeSantis to his 2018 win before a dramatic fallout that led to her return to Trump’s fold.
Wiles’ leadership was instrumental in keeping the 2024 campaign “drama-free,” a stark contrast to the earlier tumultuous phases of Trump’s political career.
In her new role as Chief of Staff, Wiles will oversee the White House’s operations, and Trump has expressed confidence that she will help “Make America Great Again.”

She is the daughter of Pat Summerall, the legendary football player and broadcaster, and has a long career in both national and Florida politics.
Republicans have widely praised Trump’s selection of Wiles. Charlie Kirk, a close Trump ally, described her as “disciplined, smart, and deserving of the role.”
Even Democratic Rep. Jared Moskowitz praised Wiles, noting her intelligence and strategic mindset.
Trump’s appointment of Wiles signals his intention to run a less chaotic administration in his second term, with a trusted and experienced leader at the helm.
