In a dramatic legal move, former President Donald Trump has filed a $10 billion lawsuit against CBS, accusing the network of manipulating an interview with Vice President Kamala Harris.
The suit, lodged in the Northern District of Texas just days before the crucial 2024 election, claims that CBS aired misleading edits that misrepresented Harris’s responses during a discussion about the Israel-Hamas conflict.
Trump’s legal team alleges that the version of the interview featured on CBS’s flagship program, “60 Minutes,” aired a more polished and concise statement from Harris compared to a preview shown on “Face the Nation.”
In the latter, Harris’s response included what Trump’s lawyers described as a “word salad,” which they argue highlighted her lack of clarity on the Biden administration’s stance on Israel.
The controversy stems from two distinct clips: on “Face the Nation,” Harris discussed the U.S. influence on Israel’s actions, stating that various advocacy efforts led to regional movements.

However, when the same question was asked on “60 Minutes,” her response was notably shorter and more direct, emphasizing the U.S. commitment to ending the war without delving into specifics.

The former president’s legal documents argue that the network crossed the line from journalistic discretion to “deceitful manipulation” of news content.
As the 2024 presidential race heats up, Trump seeks a jury trial alongside his hefty damages claim, asserting that the network’s actions have unfairly impacted his campaign.
