The battle between the Rastafarian students and the Achimota School is finally over as the court orders the school to admit the students.
Two Rastafarian students, Tyrone Marhguy and Oheneba Nkrabea who passed and their B.E.C.E and got admission to attend Achimota SHS were both rejected by the school authorities because of their hairstyle saying it amounted to a breach of their fundamental human rights and their right to education.

The impasse between the students and the school has been ongoing since March 19 and it has become a very big issue which brought about a lot of mixed reactions from individuals and stakeholders from Ghana and abroad speaking against the action took by the school head.
Tyrone Marhguy after denied admission into the school had no choice but to go the legal way to fight for their rights which is to go ahead and sue the school, after the long chase into the case, the two Rastafarian have been vindicated.
However, The Human Rights Court One, presided over by Justice Gifty Adjei Addo, on Monday, Today, May 31st, 2021, ordered the management of Achimota Senior High School to admit two Rastafarian students, who were rejected because of their hairstyle.

Prior to today’s court case, Journalists covering the human rights case were ordered by the court clerk to leave the courtroom with the exception of only parties to the case.
